Male circumcision is a horrible, barbaric practice. I personally cannot understand how parents can allow a physician to literally rip healthy skin off their newborn son's genitalia. Many of these same people think it's cruel to dock puppies' tails and crop their ears, but think nothing of what they've done to their sons!

This letter was in response to her article "Ancient ritual does not harm" which was published in the Calgary Herald on March 14, 2001.

....."I took great exception to your article which is hardly based on fact, but merely on assumptions which you have made.  I find it difficult to believe that anyone who has done even a minimal amount of research on circumcision could have written such an uninformed article.

In addition to the misinformation presented, as a male I find the article offensive and dehumanizing. I would have hoped to be accorded the same type of respect and dignity given to females." .........

"It is  incredible that in a society where tolerance towards others, and respect for their rights is the norm, that anyone would have the audacity to write such a demeaning article,  and more incredible, that any paper would  publish it. I challenge  The National Post,  to likewise print an article which is  equally offensive and demeaning to females. Even such a notion would not be entertained, and if such an article did manage to get into print, both the author and the editor would soon  be seeking employment elsewhere."
