NATIONAL ORGANIZATION TO HALT THE ABUSE AND ROUTINE CIRCUMCISION OF MALES (NOHARMM)
National Organization to Halt the Abuse and Routine Mutilation of Males
is a non-profit, educational and direct-action men's network organized against
circumcision of healthy male infants and children. It gained its inspiration from
an earlier group, The Victims Speak.
MISSION: To raise public awareness about male genital cutting (MGC)
practices and increase public understanding of genital integrity as a
fundamental human right. We exist to: educate men about the functions & benefits of normal, intact male genitalia; document the damage caused by male genital cutting customs and expose them as violations of basic human rights to physical integrity and
self-determination; empower men with the education necessary to oppose male genital
mutilation in their own families and at local, national and international levels; support men in other cultures who want to re-examine their societies' male
genital cutting traditions.
NOHARMM stands in solidarity with women against female genital cutting
(FGC), and firmly opposes sexism, racism, ageism, homophobia and
anti-Semitism. We impugn no gender, race or religion, but assert that an intact
body is a universal human right.

Welcome to the Doctors Opposing Circumcision home page. D.O.C. is an organization of physicians, and others who are opposed to routine neonatal circumcision. D.O.C. has members in 50 States, 12 Canadian Provinces and Territories, and in nations on six continents. These doctors recognize that no one has the right to forcibly remove sexual body parts from another individual. They also believe that doctors should have no role in this painful, unnecessary procedure inflicted on the newborn.

Position Statement on Infant Circumcision
Circumcising a baby violates his right to keep his body normal and intact.
There is no valid medical reason to circumcise a baby.
Amputating a baby's foreskin robs him of uniquely specialized protective and erogenous tissue.
Circumcision is a sexual mutilation.
Like any other surgery, circumcision has risks, including excessive bleeding, infection, and even
death.
Few parents are aware of the harm caused by circumcision.
The infant is unable at this vulnerable age to state his own wishes or to protect himself.

ATTORNEYS FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD
An international network of attorneys and supporters now addresses the multi-faceted issue of genital mutilation of children, particularly the practice of male circumcision. Attorneys for the Rights of the Child (ARC) is a non-profit organization founded to secure equal protection for, and broaden judicial and public recognition of, children’s legal and human rights to bodily integrity and self-determination. ARC directs its efforts towards both male and female circumcision (also known as female genital mutilation [FGM] or female genital cutting), focusing on the American cultural practice of male circumcision due to its frequency relative to FGM in the United States and also due to the lack of any other legal organization currently concentrating on male circumcision.
ARC’s network of attorneys can assist families whose sons were circumcised without parental consent or below the "standard of care," and those whose sons died from circumcision. ARC is also working to assist plaintiffs wishing to expand the legal standard on this issue to make legal relief potentially available to all involuntarily circumcised males. The medical profession
will confront a challenge to this inhumane disfigurement of baby boys' genitals from an organization of legal professionals which it cannot afford to ignore.
Compelling reasons exist for strong concern among attorneys and the public about the various types of damage caused by circumcision. These including pain and suffering, psychological harm, behavioral changes, irreversible reduction or loss of full sexual function, and underreported tragic complications, including deaths. Moreover, no satisfactory medical justification for routine circumcision has ever been demonstrated. Committed attorneys have already undertaken a range of legal actions against circumcisers which have made critical contributions to reduce the rate of routine neonatal circumcision in the United States. The national rate has dropped from a high of 85% in the 1980s, to its present rate of less than 60%. However, ARC believes that no
involuntary circumcisions can be tolerated in a civilized country.
ARC actively works to encourage professionals in relevant fields including medical ethics, psychology, the rights of children and youth, and the treatment of male sexual victimization to incorporate genital integrity awareness into their work. ARC representatives have published pertinent articles in legal and medical journals and have presented papers at relevant conferences
in these and other fields. ARC responds immediately when the need arises for a position paper, letter, or press release related to our expertise.
Foundational Philosophy of Attorneys for the Rights of the Child
A number of human rights documents appear to forbid infant male circumcision based on such important principles as the right to physical integrity, the right to freedom of religion, the right to the highest attainable standard of health, and the right to protection against torture. These documents bind the United States, either through our direct ratification of the treaty or under principles of customary international law. The many laws against female genital mutilation, contrasted with the discriminatory nature of excusing and tacitly condoning male genital mutilation, violate principles of equal protection under both international human rights law and American constitutional doctrines.
Our own cultural blindness must not be allowed to warp American law by insulating perpetrators of circumcision from liability under a broad range of legal theories. By understanding the medical and psychological harm caused by circumcision and by positioning ourselves to enforce the legal and human rights guarantees of physical integrity and self-determination, we can work for the best interests of children, by guaranteeing them equal protection under the law.

This web site has done and is still doing
extensive research into the subject of male
and female circumcision. What has become
apparent is that most sites on this topic are
strongly against the practice. For every one
in favor there are one hundred against. But
even more interesting are the number of
organizations around the world that are each
fighting against this evil practice. There are
literally thousands but most are not aware of
each other. There are doctors and nurses
groups, Jewish and Islamic groups, mothers
and fathers groups, Christian and
non-religious groups all maintaining the same
opinion; Routine circumcision is not a
necessary medical procedure and it is
violation of the rights of all children, male or
female.
Many of these groups access this site and I
hope that they will all get together and have
a unified attack on this problem. Doctors,
Nurses and Social Workers need to come up
with a list of those opposing circumcision.
The same goes for the musicians and artists
as well as the every day person who can
influence their Congressman, Senator or MP.
This is a time to unify and communicate. If a
letter of opposition was sent to all the US
legislators signed by two thousand doctors
and nurses it would get noticed! If
musicians, actors and performers made a
point of opposition before or after
performances, it would help.
What adults do to themselves is essentially
their own business, however misguided it
may be, but there is no justification,
religious, cultural or medical for the sexual
mutilation of children and quite simply it
must stop.
If we cannot stop this simple act of
mutilation how can we (human race) ever
think we can stop the many other forms of
human rights violations that plague our
world.
What it teaches children is that violence is
justified and that the weak and
disadvantaged, children, females and the
social outcasts bear the brunt of this and
other male orientated abuse.
In the developed world over the last 150
years society has developed the concept
that children are the future and that what
ever is done to them is often done by them
in adulthood. This is more often the case.
Childhood is a Victorian concept and so alas
is modern routine circumcision. As the Urban
Rebel slogan states, “Every culture has
something to bring to the table of
humanity”. Childhood is something good,
circumcision is something bad. We must all
learn to distinguish the differences.
Developed countries are secular, and religion
is not an absolute but a choice of faith. It is
an individual choice not one automatically
bestowed upon ones offspring. The age of
majority is merely the start of adulthood,
manhood; one does not become instantly an
adult. This is the point at which one starts
one’s journey. It might take five years, it
might take fifty.

A Jewish Perspective
The Circumcision Resource Center is a nonprofit educational organization with the purpose of informing the public and professionals about the practice of circumcision. Our mission is to raise awareness and facilitate healing. The Center is a valuable source of circumcision information for parents and children's advocates; childbirth educators and allied professionals; medical, mental health, and academic people; Jews; and others. Our Directors (majority is Jewish) and Professional Advisory Board members (one-third is Jewish) consist of researchers and clinicians in the fields of medicine, mental health, and social science. The Circumcision Information Resource Centre is a non-profit
organisation located in Montréal, Québec, Canada which provides
information about non-religious infant circumcision and related topics, in
English and French.

(844-2472). In addition, the Centre provides written documentation on
request, provides speakers for media engagements or other gatherings,

<BoysToo.com> speaks especially to North Dakotans by North Dakotans urging us to face the mistakes of the past and stop the harmful cutting of healthy genitals. We are proud North Dakota was the first state to pass any law specifically protecting the genitals of minors. But the original gender-neutral bill we proposed in 1995 was unfortunately altered, restricted to apply only to female minors. The bill that became law is a violation of the >U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment that provides equal protection for all. We brought a suit to challenge its constitutionality, but so far have been denied the opportunity for a hearing on the merits of the issue.
Because we are raising an ethical issue (this is NOT a medical issue) we are challenging the actions of physicians in our society who have had the privilege of society's respect for years, so we find it necessary to present not only the facts, but also ourselves, to let you see us in the context of our life's work. We look forward to the day when all children are protected, when each child can grow up making his own decision whether to amputate part of his body. While most find it unsettling, if not illegal, when people tattoo infants, or fondle their genitals; they avert eyes and ears, however, when parts of baby's healthy genitals are torn and cut off. ..................................................
Silence is the usual response from those whose responsibility it is to raise the ethical issue of nonconsensual male genital mutilation (MGM) in educational, legal and law enforcement settings. No one wants to accept responsibility even to discuss the issue: Physicians have refused to debate the issue; colleges' legal, philosophical, sociological, psychological and medical departments can't seem to find a place to address this issue so relevant to all these college departments; government agencies (particularly the North Dakota Board of Medical Examiners) and courts, all with legal mandates to address the issue, if not prevent the abuse of infants and children, say nothing or insist it is someone else's job.
Voltaire once said, "It is dangerous to be right on a subject on which the established authorities are wrong," but we have heard the screams and know about the long-term losses and cannot turn away. Unlike many things that cause suffering, this suffering is completely preventable. We want to focus energy that exists in this state on bringing the tragic wrongs, forced on so many innocent newborns of the last century, to a halt.

There are so many web sites and I greatly regret - if I overlooked it - wasn't aware of it - or did not list it here. If you would like to have your web site listed please contact us- give us the link and we will gladly include it here.
Many individuals and groups have taken so much time presenting excellent web sites. "Medical Fraud" web site is meant to be different from others in that we are deliberately hosting a "hard hitting" web site and make no apologies for it. While the tone of it may be offensive to some individuals, it is certainly not as offensive as restraining an individual and amputating a part of his/her body for any one - of a host of reasons.
Of course there will be those who are in denial and will refuse to admit that they were harmed, or that they have harmed their children by amputating a very vital part of their bodies. Boys in North America have been sexually assaulted for decades. All those who knew about it - were told about it - the clergy - governments - law enforcement agencies - but each refused to take action to end the sexual abuse of boys. They tried to cover it up - excuse it - and hope that these allegations would just go away. It took decades before the abuse was exposed and those responsible for it brought to justice.
Circumcision is another form of abuse which has caused a great deal of consternation and harm to its victims. Again, there is a reluctance to do much about it - and those who dare speak out are often ridiculed. However, conscientious objectors are speaking out , demanding an end to this depravity. While this struggle is just as difficult as the struggle boys faced in various institutions , progress is being made, and hopefully perpetrators of this criminal assault will also be brought to justice.
Now that it has become evident that there is no medical justification for male circumcision, some columnists still believe that they must condone it and not offend parents or doctors who circumcise - as one reporter recently informed me - parents will do it anyway. My response was: there will always be individuals who will exploit children, sexually assault and abuse them. Does this also mean that we should also condone these perversions and try and make them less painful? What happened to the rights of children? Are children not entitled to protection against physical abuse and painful, unnecessary genital mutilations?
What happened to responsible journalism? If the media is reluctant to co-operate and present the facts, then we will use internet as a means of communication. Hopefully the media will understand the concept of equality - and that in a democracy all are equal under the law. Every child understands the principle of equality. Why is it so difficult for adults to understand or accept it?
If it is politically incorrect to defend male rights, then why? If, unlike females, we do not have the right to choose what is in our best interests, we want to know why not. What is the definition of "equality" as "guaranteed" under the Charter of Rights or Constitution ? Or is the violation of individual rights sanctioned as long as it is done in the name of religion or democracy?
